The Brief
Our clients, a retired couple, had recently purchased a modern townhouse in Orakei. Although only a few years old, the home felt flat and lacked personality. They wanted to inject colour, texture and a sense of drama, while creating spaces that would feel both sophisticated and welcoming for everyday living and entertaining.
Our Role
NM Design reimagined the key living spaces, designing a new kitchen and a luxurious home bar as the centrepiece of the renovation. The bar features porcelain stone benchtops, dark timber cabinetry, bespoke brass open shelving and a bronze mirror splashback, creating a glamorous focal point for entertaining. We also sourced new living, dining and outdoor furniture, layering textures, rich finishes and carefully chosen pieces to bring warmth and character into the townhouse.
The Result
The transformation has given the home a clear identity -elegant, contemporary and full of personality. The once plain interiors now feel luxurious and inviting, with the home bar and kitchen providing a dramatic yet refined backdrop for entertaining. The new furniture and finishes tie the living, dining and outdoor areas together, creating a home that is both distinctive and deeply enjoyable to live in.
