NKBA KITCHEN DISTINCTION 25K-40K | 2017 NKBA FIRST TIME ENTRANT

Our client had purchased a very outdated penthouse apartment to completely renovate. His brief was to create a luxurious “city-pad” retreat.

The kitchen is in a very prominent position and needed to set the scene for the rest of the apartment. The existing kitchen was nearly half the size of the new space and only had an entry point at the right hand end. To access the laundry you had to walk right around and through the kitchen.

We relocated the laundry to a storage room adjacent to the existing laundry and used the space to enlarge the kitchen and to create entry points at both ends with a large island bench.

This apartment has wonderful light and a double height living space, so we could be bold with colour choices. I specified dark cabinetry and benchtops to create a luxurious and moody feel and to be a strong anchor at one end of the large living space.

These dark colours are complimented by the warm tones and texture of brass mosaic tiles, rich coloured splashback and the walnut veneer, further enhanced by LED strip lighting.

“Nicola worked with me on my inner city Penthouse project. She achieved a fantastic result with a real wow factor created for a reasonably conservative spend. Great to work with and understood just what I was looking for.”
