Before and After Case Study – Ensuite Bathroom

This is the Master Bedroom Ensuite in a gorgeous 1930’s home. The brief from my clients was to:

  • Provide more storage, as they had nowhere to store or put anything in the Ensuite.
  • Create a more spacious, light and functional space.

The meet this brief we:

  • Completely striped out the existing bathroom fitting, existing tiles and wall linings.
  • GIB Aqualine was used for the wall linings, as recommended for bathrooms and wet areas.
  • The floor, shower areas and up the walls to a certain height was waterproofed using a quality waterproofing product.
  • Under floor heating was installed.
  • The shower walls were tiled with a marble mosaic tile. The remaining walls were tiled with a white 300x600mm textured tile.
  • Charcoal coloured tiles were used for the flooring.
  • A custom-made vanity was installed with the bench top being made in the same stone as the mosaic wall tiles in the shower.
  • A custom-made mirror cabinet was installed and included power points for toothbrushes and hairdryer.
  • General lighting was improved as well as the task lighting.
  • Good ventilation was also installed.
  • The colour palette used was white, very soft grey and the stronger grey on the floors.

My clients were delighted with the end result; the Ensuite has great storage, is light and has a luxurious, spacious feel.
